Project Manager (DAS Installation Management)

ARQ is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager with experience managing in-building and outdoor distributed antenna system installations for Cellular and public safety applications. This position requires experience core program management/ installation management competencies, including communication technical expertise, presentation skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Applicant must have project management (installation management) installation experience with OEM systems from Commscope (Andrew), Corning (MobileAccess), TE (ADC) or Solid in-building and outdoor equipment. Familiarity with passive repeater based equipment is beneficial. At least 60% travel may be required to project manage DAS installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and coordinate customer requirements, project design and key dates for phases of project
  • Coordinate site surveys & benchmark testing
  • Conduct bid walks and prepare bid documents
  • Develop and write the technical content for proposals and RFP responses.
  • Work with services team to generate pricing for implementation
  • Work with Wireless Service Providers and end-customer
  • Order and track equipment & materials for projects within the region
  • Schedule project deployments & commissioning
  • Manage project deployments
  • Provide daily/weekly, concise customer updates/status reports
  • Maintain quality control of project installations
  • Manage activities around commissioning DAS systems
  • Manage acceptance testing and troubleshooting of completed deployment
  • Provide closeout documentation

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • PMP certification
  • 5+ years of installation management experience with IDAS and ODAS systems
  • 5+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Recognize and provide a safe work site with high quality and efficiency
  • Excellent understanding of RF propagation and RF principles
  • Must be familiar with wireless technologies CDMA, EVDO, GSM, CDMA, UMTS, W-CDMA and LTE
  • Must be able to carry test equipment and perform site surveys and system testing.
  • Familiarity with Verizon, Sprint and AT&T in-building requirements is a plus.
  • Experience with building and integrating in-building systems for both Public Safety and Cellular industry. Experience in WIFI implementations is a plus.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Project, Visio, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be disciplined to work independently and effectively in an office environment as well as customer locations
  • Must have good writing and communication skills.
  • Able to set priorities and complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience preferred

Associate RF Engineer

ARQ is currently seeking an Associate RF Engineer with experience designing in-building and outdoor distributed antenna systems for Cellular and public safety applications. This position requires experience writing proposals, performing site surveys, designing systems using iBwave software, system commissioning, creating detailed RF propagation studies, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Applicant must be familiar with OEM systems from Commscope (Andrew), Corning (MobileAccess) or TE (ADC) in-building and outdoor equipment and must be familiar with passive repeater based equipment as well. Up to 50% travel may be required to support site survey and system commissioning duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform site surveys.
  • Engineer system solutions based on wireless carriers RF design criteria.
  • Use iBwave and other design tools to document system design parameters and prepare reports.
  • Develop and write the technical content for proposals and RFP responses.
  • Work with services to generate pricing for implementation.
  • Accompany Project Managers onsite to support build out and system commissioning.
  • Create, modify and finalize system designs.
  • Create system documentation (block diagrams, riser diagrams, floor plans with cable/antenna overlays, system manuals).
  • Create acceptance testing documents as required.
  • Conduct system optimization, commissioning & system acceptance testing
  • Complete upgrades and retrofits.
  • Work with Wireless Service Providers and end-customers.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair existing systems.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 1+ years of in-building DAS design experience
  • Excellent understanding of RF propagation and RF principles
  • Experience with iBwave design software and Intermodulation software
  • Must be familiar with wireless technologies CDMA, EVDO, GSM, CDMA, UMTS, W-CDMA and LTE
  • Must be familiar with the use of signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
  • Must be able to carry test equipment and perform site surveys and system testing.
  • Experience with CW testing.
  • Familiarity with Verizon, Sprint and AT&T in-building requirements is a plus.
  • Experience with implementing in-building systems for both Public Safety and Cellular industry. Experience in WIFI design is a plus.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • RF literacy: Understands decibels, power, RSSI, (dB, dBm), antenna concepts, repeater concepts, cellular systems (Cell/PCS, EvDo, UMTS, GSM, etc.  and passive RF components.

Education:

  • BSEE or equivalent and relevant experience preferred
  • iBwave experience (Level 1 certification preferred), Design experience in large venues, stadiums and arenas is a plus.
